A new year means a New Year’s resolution. I’m a sucker for setting a resolution but I’m not particularly good at keeping one. Knowing this, I was on the lookout for resolution that wouldn’t take a lot of time, but that I could commit to everyday. One friend suggested taking a class. Were they kidding? I can barely keep up with what I already have going on. I needed something small, a microscopic feat. Then, I thought meditation. Business leaders like Ray Dalio credit meditation as the primary reason for his success and all sorts of athletes, like Lebron James,  use mediation as a tool to bolster performance. I could use some of that. Ten minutes, once a day. I had been wanting to institute it into my life for the better part of the last ten years, but like most things never got around to it. If I managed to stick to it, I secretly hoped I would work my way up to 20 minutes, twice a day (I read somewhere that that’s the magic number.) That was a big if. For now, ten minutes would do.
